Responsible use
- Monitor public systems that you own or are authorized to test.
- Use the lowest request frequency and smallest payload that meets your operational need.
- Keep destinations, recipients, and public status content accurate and current.
- Respect firewall guidance, rate limits, robots, provider terms, and requests from destination owners.
- Report suspected vulnerabilities privately through the official FLUX contact channel.
Security abuse is prohibited
- Scanning ports, enumerating services, or probing systems without authorization.
- Attempting to access private, loopback, link-local, metadata, reserved, or internal network destinations.
- Bypassing access controls, rate limits, destination restrictions, account limits, or security checks.
- Sending malicious code, exploit payloads, credential attacks, denial-of-service traffic, or unusually large requests.
- Using monitoring, API tokens, webhooks, or status subscriptions to collect credentials or deceive another person.
Platform and communication abuse is prohibited
- Creating accounts to evade suspension or to obtain additional capacity unfairly.
- Sending spam, harassment, unlawful content, or unsolicited notifications through alert and subscription features.
- Publishing content that is deceptive, infringes rights, exposes personal information, or impersonates another organization.
- Reselling access, automating sign-ups, scraping the dashboard, or using the service in a way that degrades it for others.
- Using the service for unlawful activity or in violation of sanctions or other applicable restrictions.
Traffic and intervals
The minimum check interval is one minute. Account limits, retry settings, timeouts, and supported ports are enforced to keep traffic proportionate. Do not coordinate multiple monitors or accounts to imitate sub-minute checks or generate excessive load.
When a destination blocks checks, follow the allowlist guidance. Do not repeatedly restart a monitor to bypass a protective pause.
How this policy is enforced
We may investigate suspected violations, limit a feature, pause checks, remove harmful content, revoke tokens, suspend an account, or block a destination. The response will consider risk, severity, history, and whether immediate action is needed to prevent harm.
Where appropriate, we may ask for proof of authorization or allow a reasonable opportunity to correct an issue. Serious or repeated abuse may lead to permanent termination and, where required, referral to the relevant provider or authority.
Report a concern
If FLUX Monitoring traffic is reaching a system without permission or you believe the service is being abused, contact FLUX with the destination, approximate time, and any request identifiers available. Do not include passwords, private keys, or unnecessary personal information in the report.
